Alexander Macgregor was born at 26 Melville Street, Perth on 14th March 1888 . His father James was a manager. He was educated at Northern District School in Perth and at Perth Academy where he was awarded the Duncan Medal as Dux in mathematics. This medal, of silver and gold, was deposited in Perth Museum & Art Gallery in 2006. He then proceeded to study at the University of Glasgow where he graduated MA in 1909 . These are Economic History lecture notes, possibly a lecturer's own notes. There are 6 notebooks within a slipcase. On the slipcase is written in pencil "Dr James Cunnison? Alec Macfie?" The identification of the author of these notes is not certain. There is one letter within volume 6 addressed to Dr Cunnison, but without a comparison of handwriting it has not possible to assign these notes to Dr Cunnison. References within the notes would indicate that they were written after 1924. ...
